Removing Storage Units from Server Nexus

Storage units are removed from the server nexus automatically by the garbage collector. Should an storage unit be required to be removed manually the following steps should be observed.

To quickly have an storage unit (record) appear as being removed from the server nexus it should be marked as disconnected. The following cautions should be exercised:
  • Insure that there are no references to the storage unit being removed.
  • If there are references to the storage unit they will also be required to be removed to prevent errors when loading the data into the client nexus.
  • Before physically removing the object from the server nexus storage mark the object as disconected. Test that no errors occur and then physically remove the storage unit.
