Farm Gate States
States used in the Farm Gate objects are very useful for managing data. Jetfire Web Parts that display lists of objects typically have a filter as one of the properties.
By setting the filter of e.g. a list of producers to 'CurrentState=Active', only the active producers are displayed. Conversely, inactive producers may be displayed on a separate page where the administrator can track old entries and re-activate a producers membership as required.
